Eagle has developed another advancement in the manufacture of 3D printed ceramic cores with their Eagle DPC SIAL Core material. This new material is a 70% SiO2/30% Al2O3 core body and is being used in Superalloy Blade and Vane applications for Single Crystal, Directionally Solidified and Equiax casting processes. Core leaching is easily performed using existing equipment and processes with both KOH and NaOH systems. This new core body compliments Eagle’s family of DPC Cores for Equiax, SS, Aluminum and Titanium alloys. The new SIAL Core also offers the opportunity to have a much higher quality surface finish than previous iterations if required for the specific project. Approximately 80% of our DPC cores are supplied to investment casters and OEM engine primes inserted into 3D printed patterns. We supply “Mold Ready” cored patterns without the need for tooling in as little as three weeks”, added Mike Hascher, president of Eagle. For more information, visit their website at www.eagle-esi.com.
