Russell Gallagher, Vice President of Engineering, has retired from Bescast, Inc., a family-operated business established in 1945. Bescast serves the aerospace, military, and industrial gas turbine and compression industry with complex blades, vanes, turbine nozzle and hardware. www.bescast.com Russell began his career working summers while attending college and officially joined in 1985. He represents the third generation and retires just shy of 40 years in the casting industry. With a degree in metallurgical engineering and a master’s in industrial engineering, Russell and his team developed many innovative processes and casting practices used today, resulting in single source status for many of the castings. Russell developed the structure of ownership responsibility for process control and technical controls introduced in the early 90’s and continues to this day. Russell served as the company Level 3 in disciplines of welding, heat treating, penetrant inspection, and radiographic inspection establishing all documentation for Nadcap, AS, and ISO compliance during the early 2000’s. Russ has presented technical papers at the ICI leading to his joining the ICI Board of Directors in 2015, where he served until 2023. Russ found his involvement with the ICI very rewarding, learning and meeting other ICI members, and would like to see continued contributions toward promoting the industry as a whole. Russ will continue to serve on the Board of Directors for Bescast, Inc. and plans traveling, sailing, and enjoying family.
